  • Details of your visits to our Website, including traffic data, logs, location data, and the resources that you access and use
  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type

Information We Collect Through Our Software

When you use our Branch plugin for AutoCAD, we collect the following information to provide, maintain, and improve our Software.

Early Release Product Notice

Branch is currently in active development with frequent updates and improvements. During this early release period, we collect enhanced telemetry data to help us:

  • Identify and fix bugs quickly
  • Understand which features are most valuable to users
  • Optimize performance across different system configurations
  • Prioritize development based on actual usage patterns

This data collection is essential for delivering a reliable, high-quality product. As the Software matures, we may reduce the scope of telemetry collection and introduce user controls for non-essential data. We appreciate your participation in helping us improve Branch.

Account Information

  • Your email address and user identifier from your Auth0 login
  • Session identifiers to track individual usage sessions

Device and System Information

  • Operating system version
  • AutoCAD version
  • Plugin version

Usage Data

  • Which features and commands you use (e.g., Solve, Homeruns, StringExport)
  • Session start and end times
  • When you open or close plugin windows

Project Metadata

  • File names of drawings you work with
  • A one-way cryptographic hash of file paths (12 characters), used to understand usage patterns without identifying your actual files or folder structure

Important: We do not collect or have access to the actual content of your drawings, including geometry, module layouts, customer information, or any design data within your files.

Performance and Diagnostic Data

  • Processing times for operations
  • Success and failure status of commands
  • Panel, string, and inverter counts (aggregate numbers only, not designs)
  • Error information including exception types, messages, and stack traces to help us diagnose and fix issues

Voluntary Bug Reports

When you choose to submit a bug report through our Software, you may optionally include:

  • A description of the issue
  • Your drawing file
  • Screenshots
  • Debug information

Bug report submissions are voluntary and are sent to a third-party form service (Formspree) for processing.

API Communications

Our Software communicates with our servers to provide optimization features:

  • ML Solver API: Sends panel grid data to generate optimized string layouts
  • Inverter Placement API: Sends string location data to calculate optimal inverter positions

This data is processed in real-time to return results and is not permanently stored. The geometric data sent to these APIs contains only the information necessary to perform the optimization (panel positions, orientations, and groupings) and does not include customer names, addresses, project identifiers, or other metadata from your drawings.

What Stays on Your Computer

The following data never leaves your local machine:

  • Your complete drawing files and their contents
  • Customer or client information in your drawings
  • Full file paths and folder structures
  • Any data you do not explicitly send through our optimization features or bug reports
