Leaf Plugin Launches on AutoDesk AppStore
Leaf's solar stringing automation plugin becomes available for beta trials on the AutoDesk AppStore.
Our solar stringing automation plugin is now available for beta trials on the AutoDesk AppStore.
The plugin allows users to select a sub-array of solar panels and, after choosing some parameters, autonomously analyze and generate a DC cabling (stringing) design overlaying the panels in the drawing that is optimized to be efficiently installed in the field.
The idea for this plugin originated during an electrical engineering internship, where significant time was spent manually drafting connections between solar panels in CAD programs—a process called "stringing" in the industry. We committed to developing an automated solution that would benefit solar engineers globally.
At the Solar Power International conference in Los Angeles, we exhibited to 27,000 attendees, collected over 100 beta users—exceeding our goal of just 10 initial users—and over 400 interested individuals validated our vision.
We're grateful to UARF's I-Corps program and our mentors for supporting our entrepreneurial journey.
